The third annual Social Good Summit will take place Sept. 22-24 at the 92nd Y in New York City. The three-day event, which takes place during UN Week, brings together world leaders, innovators and activists to discuss how new media and technology can create solutions to global issues and make the world a better place.
Speakers scheduled to speak at this year's event include Mashable founder Pete Cashmore, United Nations Foundation CEO Kathy Calvin, bestselling author and The Chopra Foundation founder Deepak Chopra, Twitter's Claire Diaz Ortiz, Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix, and actor and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Forest Whitaker, among others.
On Sept 24, the Social Good Summit will connect to leaders and citizens in China and Kenya via Livestream. New York, Beijing, and Nairobi will come together for a 24-hour conversation that will explore ways technology and social media can solve some of the world's greatest challenges.
The 2012 Social Good Summit is sponsored by Mashable, 92nd Street Y, the United Nations Foundation, Ericsson, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
